About Us

Established in 1986 to deliver government funded training programmes in Cornwall, Ultra Training has grown to become one of the largest independent providers of training and education in the South West of England.  The company provides a real alternative to the campus based provision of Further Education Colleges and continues to grow because it remains focussed on its two core principles: delivering the highest possible quality of training to students whilst providing a flexible delivery model to employers.  It is our dual commitment to both the learner and their employer that sets us apart.

Our training staff operate across the whole of the South West region and, although we have centres stretching from Penzance to Bristol, most of their work is done in the workplace.  This specialised work based training delivery allows employees to learn within their own work environment and ensures that businesses lose the minimum of staff time.  As a provider of national skills training programmes such as Apprenticeships and Train to Gain the quality of our service is inspected by Ofsted and, at our last full inspection we achieved a clean sweep of "Good" grades for our training and were named as "one of the best training providers in the country" by the Chief Inspector of Adult Learning.

Ultra can deliver training programmes across a range of sector specialisations although most of our NVQ and long course provision is concentrated in the following areas:

• Business Administration and IT
• Business Management
• Customer Service

At any one time we have around 1,750 students undertaking NVQ courses.  We can also provide a large range of short career and professional courses ranging from Time Management to First Aid to Patient Manual Handling for the Care industry.  Just ask us - we'll probably be able to do it!
