Carly Tague

Carly attended Sir James Smith Community College with 9 GCSE’s. Up to this time her ambition was to follow Beauty Therapy and in 2003 she started a full time Beauty Therapy course at Truro College.  The course was not what she expected along with the fact that the travelling time was 4 hours roundtrip.  She transferred to 6th Form College at Sir James Smith and started a GNVQ in Business Studies.

Carly successfully completed this course in June 2004 and over the following few months was looking form employment.  Carly lives in a very rural village making travelling, due to bus timetables, very difficult.  After contacting Ultra they arranged and interview for her at Refrigeration Southwest for an Administration apprenticeship vacancy, .starting in May 2005.  During her time with the Company Carly has achieved NVQ Level 2 in Administration and IT and also Key Skills Application of Number 1 and Communication 2.  Achieving the IT qualification has give Carly much more confidence, as most of her work is computer orientated.  Because of her being involved with her training, two of Carly’s managers have also completed NVQ’s in IT.  Carly will be progressing to advanced qualifications.

When Carly started with Refrigeration Soutwest she was very shy and introvert but with the support of her employer and work colleagues she has gained confidence and can deal with most situations that occur in her job role.
