Kristle Weeks

Kristle WeeksKrystle left Roseland School in 2001, a little disappointed with some of her GCSE results, a ‘C’ in English and ‘D’ to ‘E’ grades in her other subjects, and went on to further education to study medical reception and medical secretarial, a two year course.

Unfortunately she did not achieve these qualifications.

On leaving college Krystal went to work at the Headland Hotel as a Receptionist and started an apprenticeship scheme in Customer Service with Ultra.  Her duties at the hotel included meeting and greeting customers, taking hotel bookings both face to face and also over the telephone.  During my training time I changed employers and worked for a national restaurant chain where she completed her qualification.

At the beginning of 2006 Krystle moved to The Clay Medical Practice in the role of Reception/Administration.  Her role was on reception making appointments, answering the telephone, dispensing drugs and also taking charge of all of the nurse’s administration work.  Krystle worked hard to complete her Apprenticeship in Business Administration and progressed to the advanced level.  Along with NVQ qualifications Krystle has completed a Customer Matters course, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Key Skills at Level 2 in IT, Communication and Application of Number and AMPSAR medical GP Certificate.

Krystle is researching the possibility of starting an Open University course in Advanced Management in Healthcare.

The Apprenticeship training has been the right education path for Krystle as it did not feel like full-time education but being able to enjoy working at her own pace and in her preferred learning styles.
