Shirley Green

Shirley started working with Caretime Services knowing that she would have to achieve an NVQ 2 in Care.  She had left school with poor qualifications and being over 40 years of age had not held a job for over twenty years.

She was very anxious at the start and began her qualification being very scared and didn’t think she could write anything.  Shirley also had lots of personal issues and she thought would affect her training and also her job.

However, with the help of her assessor and lots of support from her employer she began to enjoy studying and got better throughout her training.

She started her training in February 2007 and completed in April 2008.  Although it was hard work Shirley is very proud of her achievement and will miss the training.  She is looking into more training to improve her literacy and numeracy skills.  The training process has given her a lot more confidence in her job.
