Linda Tucker

Linda left Fowey School in 1975 and went on to train as a hairdresser in a salon in Par, Cornwall.  As a trainee Linda attended college one day a week and spent the other four days in the salon. After three years she achieved a City and Guilds Certificate in Hairdressing.

Linda worked full-time until leaving to have the first of her two children and has been working part-time for the past 15 years at Paige’s Hair and Beauty Salon.  Linda did not consider any further training or education during this time but over the past 18 months was encouraged by her daughter, who works for a training company.  After some consideration Linda made the decision to start training on the Train to Gain scheme.

After successfully achieving a Numeracy Level 1 qualification Linda has gone on to achieve both Literacy and Numeracy qualifications at Level 2.  Due to the increased confidence this learning and achieving has given Linda started an Advanced Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.
