Ultra apprentices visit Salon International hair show in London

As part of their Hairdressing NVQ Levels 2 and 3, forty-three lucky Ultra apprentices travelled to London for the Salon International Hair Show at Excel on 24th and 25th October. This trip formed an important part of the students' vocational training programme.

The Salon International event consisted of a multitude of live shows highlighting the very latest hair styling and cutting techniques, predictions for the coming season and featuring top stylists such as Patrick Cameron and Anthony Mascolo.  

Additionally, there were demonstrations by Goldwell Professional Haircare, Clynol, TIGI, GHD, Indola, Babyliss and Schwarzkopf Professional n which students were able to participate. They were also able to meet television celebrities such as Paul from Channel Four’s The Salon.

Ultra Hairdressing students receive a free kit worth over £80.00 when they successfully complete their initial induction period - brushes, combs, a hairdryer and diffuser, rollers, a training head and many more essential items - giving them a real headstart in their chosen career. Students attending the Salon International show were also able to visit the numerous trade stands and purchase the very latest products and tools at competitive prices.

Following the trip, students produced write-ups of their experiences and what they had learned and this written work formed an important part of their training programme. As a result of the very positive feedback received from students, the decision has been taken to make this trip an annual event – good news for future Ultra Hairdressing apprentices!
