Practising what they preach

Trainers receiving their awardsFive trainers from Ultra Work Based Learning (pictured with their awards), who are usually to be found passing on their skills to others, have recently achieved considerable training success of their own.

Three - Julianne Grills, Sandy Hale and Annie Champion - have been awarded Foundation Degrees in Education and Learning whilst two – Jacki Sandey and Ann Hopkins have received their Certificates in Education. The awards ceremony was held in Bodmin and the girls were all very pleased with their early Christmas presents. Julianne Grills from Lostwithiel, who is responsible for the training of over a 1,000 students, said, “Achieving a Foundation Degree has always been an ambition of mine and it’s a good stepping stone to a Bachelor of Arts degree. The work I have undertaken will benefit not only my own personal development but will also help improve the service I provide to Ultra’s learners.”

David Ham, Ultra’s Managing Director, added, ”I’m delighted for the girls, they have worked very hard for their degrees and certificates and they will provide excellent role models for their own students. Foundation degrees are great ways of progressing from vocational qualifications such as NVQs to Higher Education and are well within the reach of anyone prepared to put in the effort.”

Cornwall based Ultra Work Based Learning provides training to nearly 2,000 students and operates across the whole South West region.
